About IHSI

Integrated Humanitarian Safety Initiative (IHSI) is a non-political, non-denominational not for profit national governmental organization (NNGO) with full legal status to operate in South Sudan. IHSI was founded with aim of transforming the life of millions of people in South Sudan with dire safety needs through integrated knowledge and skills serving the ulnerable guided by faith, driven by compassion for quality multisectoral service delivery. IHSI is committed in supporting the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GoSS) to achieve its goal of universal coverage.

IHSI was founded with an aim of transforming the life of millions of people in South Sudan with dire safety needs through integrated knowledge and skills, serving the vulnerable guided by Faith, driven by compassion for quality multisectoral service delivery. IHSI is committed in supporting the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GoSS) to achieve its goal of universal coverage.

Over the last five years, we actively engage with communities through out in project identification and prioritization, planning and implementation. We conduct operation research to document evidences to guide scaling up WHAT WORKS to contribute to the transformation towards building resilient Humanitarian Mine Action (risk education, survey and marking), Provision of holistic protection and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for Child Protection and GBV concerns , Women and Family Health, Capacity building and development, health system, nutrition, Women and youth empowerment, to deliver quality services-especially for the mothers, children where high morbidity and mortality is registered due to poor services across South Sudan.

Foundation

IHSI was established in Juba with a small team focused on women and family health, risk education, and community centered innovations.

2020

Expansion

Expanded operations to include maternal health services and psychosocial support programs in Aweil East.

2022

Growth

Launched economic empowerment initiatives for women and expanded to provide structured Psychosocial support services for individual and groups.

Received national recognition for our community-based protection work and established new partnerships with international organizations.
